How Motability works

If you are a disabled driver in receipt of one of four specific government-funded allowances, there is a very good chance you will qualify for the Motability scheme. Provided you have at least 12 months remaining on your current allowance, you will be able to enjoy the benefits of driving a brand new vehicle, with the increased mobility and independence that brings.

There are number of advantages included as part of the scheme, including full insurance and full breakdown assistance. Furthermore, repairs, servicing and maintenance are all covered too.

After three years, you can return your vehicle or, if you would like to continue with Motability, you can choose a brand new car to drive for the next three years.

At Ames Ford, we can modify your car so that it is easier for you to drive and/or access. And we can help with the stowage of items such as a wheelchair or mobility scooter.

Even if you don’t drive, up to two nominated people can be added to your insurance, allowing you to enjoy stress-free motoring.

If you have any questions about the scheme and how it could benefit you, don’t hesitate to get in touch with one of our Motability experts. We are open Monday to Saturday inclusive, so feel free to phone or visit us at your convenience.

Alternatively, by using our online contact form, you can get in touch with us any day you like.
