The Grand C-Max is a handsome-looking vehicle that can transport as many as seven people, making it a great solution for large families or businesses. This mid-sized MPV is also good to drive and offers a fine range of engine choices. The vehicle comes in three trim levels: Zetec, Titanium and Titanium X.
The Grand C-Max proves that people-carriers can be very easy on the eye, thanks to lightweight and stylish 16-inch five twin-spoke alloy wheels and a chrome-trimmed upper front grille. Body-coloured elements include door handles and the power-operated and heated door mirrors, the latter featuring integrated indicator lights. Sliding rear doors provide simple access to the vehicle’s second and third rows, and Ford’s Easy Fuel capless system ensures that the tank is never incorrectly filled with the wrong fuel.
Front-row occupants can enjoy adjustable seating, and the driver further benefits from adjustable lumbar support, as well as a rake-and-reach-adjustable three-spoke steering wheel. The latter is leather-trimmed, as is the vehicle’s gear knob. Other standard features include power-assisted steering, remote-controlled central locking, power-operated front windows, air conditioning and a heated windscreen. Cargo capacity ranges from 115 litres with the seats up to 432 litres with the third row folded.
A 1.0-litre petrol engine, offering either 98bhp or 123bhp, delivers up to 55.4mpg and a 117g/km CO2 emissions figure. A diesel alternative, a 1.5-litre 118bhp unit, returns as much as 68.9mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 105g/km. The aforementioned options are paired with six-speed manual transmission and feature an automatic start/stop system.
A six-speaker sound system includes a stereo radio, a CD player and DAB digital radio. Also included is a 4.2-inch colour display, SYNC with voice control and Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity.
Driving aids such as Anti-lock Braking System, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Control and Hill-start Assist are included, as is Emergency Brake Warning, which activates whenever heavy braking pressure is applied. The Grand C-Max comes with a five-star rating awarded by Euro NCAP and passive safety features include multiple airbags, ISOFIX child-seat attachments and childproof locks.
